Good Vision

I remembered the time when I first had my eyeglasses on. I was on my sophomore year and it was pretty weird. I looked like a geek, more than the weirdo I've always been tagged as. Walking through corridors was kind of awkward, and using the stairs as well, not only because of my large framed concave lenses that hang in the bridge of my nose, but also because of the stares given by people of my age. My ophthalmologist advised me to Wear my spectacles the moment I wake up in the morning and kept it worn for 8 hours thereafter. I tried not wearing it for days, but I always had this nauseous feeling everytime I do so. Plus the constant headache and blurry images I see upfront. I thank the heavens for contact lenses. I looked normal with them being worn. But I don't have the skill to put them on everytime I'm in a rush. Yet, I keep complaining bout my eyesight. Why don't I have this perfect eyesight like the others. Because of it, I became quite a laughing stock. But as I see the blind strolling in streets, I was more than thankful that I still get to view how beautiful the world is. I get to appreciate colors, shapes and images. And the feelings I felt are recreated through images I could make up. I realized how narrow minded I was before, for ranting about petty things and not appreciate the gift I had instead.

Wearing eyeglasses/contact lens to aid you to see is better than being blind. It will be really hard to wake up each day without seeing anything. Being blind means the world is dark. Nights and days are both dark. In your case, I am happy to know that you are not blind. However, be careful to your eyes. I think it is better to wear eyeglasses than contact lens (as doctors recommended). But it is your choice which one you are comfortable with.

Thank you.yeah. I'll take note of that.. I agree. I'm grateful that though I don't have a perfect vision, atleast I can still see the world in various colors. It's a gift to celebrate actually. And most of us don't understand how blessed we truly are. Mainly because we just see flaws and imperfections

I feel this sometimes. I also wear glasses and whenever I have it I get jealous of others go have good eyesight but then when I see blind people I feel sad and at the same time grateful to God that I'm not blind. No offense meant to blind people

Yes. I agree. Thank you. Sometimes, we can't appreciate what we have unless we saw how others struggle with what we already have. Most times, we take things for granted afterall. But it's always great to reflect
