Hello guys
This is weird for me. I am having cold right now. My both noses are completely block. And with that now I can't have taste. Whatever I am eating is kind of blank. I mean no taste at all. My dad told me it is related with COLD. I wonder how nose and tongue are related.
It is kind of frustration from all side. I hope all of you are feeling well.

It has something to do with the way our mind stores the information. What do you like? How does it smell? Which sense is activated first...sight, followed by smell, followed by taste. If looks are like rasagoola, and if smell is like rasagolla, then taste would be like rasagolla. So the mind satisfies its conditions like that. As you can see, sense of smell is sandwiched.

I am so sorry that everything tastes blank
This just means when nose is blocked all taste is blocked too. I do not know the science but I had experienced it myself too.
I hope you feel better..you can use hot boiling steam and sniff it to open your sinuses. Put hot water in bowl, cover your head with towel and smell.

@TiarasOceanView Yes, its quite popular. Though I don't like it as I feel uncomfortable after applying. Though I have to use it today night if nothing will work.

The responses saying that smell affects taste is correct, another thing is you might have had fever with your colds then that also affects the taste buds.
