Like putting up umbrellas inside, the number 13 etc. I'm not really, but I do find it hard to walk around a ladder!

I guess so. No umbrellas inside, never put new shoes on a table, don't cut fingernails on a Friday... come's from my Irish grandmother!

I have never been superstitious, but I find a lot of superstitions to be a fascinating part of folklore. Many of them can be traced back to their origin and have relevance of one kind or another. Obvious examples would be walking under a ladder whereby someone could drop something, and the third light being unlucky because of the trenches in the wartime.

yes, yes, yes! Where, how did they start. Do you know much about this subject at all? I guess we pass these things on without even knowing the real reason. Giving you a plus mate! Thank you.

Thanks for your response. But some people can be extremely superstitious. Though I am not one of them!

Not in the slightest. If you think it'll happen, it probably will.

No, I don't think I'm superstitious but there are a lot of things I do 'just in case', like saluting a magpie, throwing salt over one's shoulder and touching wood. I don't see that it does any harm, it keeps old traditions alive and it's better to be safe than sorry!

I m not superstitious but when it boils down to a situation when i have to make a choice between two options..one of them on the lines of being superstitious..well..i think my mind will automatically want me to choose that option
