There was an opportunity to apply to work with a crisis center to help people struggling. I always liked this idea because I have so much experience with suicide and self harm etc and would like to be able to help people. So I applied and thought what's the worst that can happen? Well I checked my email today and had 2 emails. One said here's your slides but I didn't want to get my hopes up but I went on the website logged in and it said congrats your application has been accepted click here to start training! I feel like for once my anxiety and depression will come in handy being able to help people dealing with the same thing, it makes it feel less like a curse and I'm so excited to start this!

@Plethos Being a psychiatrist requires getting a medical degree. I'm happy being a mere psychologist.

@skydream - you should try a class or two at a junior college or similar to see if its something youd want to pursue as a career. i have two friends who are psychiatrist, one is head of the program here in the county. they both love it.

Thank you! I have questioned going to school to learn about mental illness and how to help those. I think this might give me a clear yes or no if i should
