why do you think it is that most babies say daddy first??

well this question came up between my husband and i one day shortly after my daughter started saying daddy (she started saying daddy before dada oddly enough). my husband said something to the affect of it's easier to say but it was quickly ruled out by the fact that she could already say "stop it mommy" at 6 months. after some contemplation i came to the curious conclusion that since technically the child was with and comes from the father first so once the child is born it automatically acknowledges where it originally came from first. idk maybe i'm way off but that's what i think.

interesting, i think its a toss up as to what a baby first says. or is encouraged to say.

It because I think daddy is very easy to say, like my son now. Daddy is the first word that he said.

In my case, mother is pronounced first. I think it depends on what the baby is listening more often. So it may vary in place to place.

The reason may be that *you* use the word 'daddy' more in front of the child than 'mummy'. Btw, do you have statistics for that or are you generalising?
