Would be great to do what I love and earn from it

I write for various online websites. I have published ten books, and two anthologies, of which I am the editor. I have some blogs, which I monetized with AdSense. I also help authors publish books. All these things have earnings potential. Unfortunately, what I earn is pretty low. If I relied on book sales, Amazon sales, ad/traffic revenue, and income from my book publishing services, as my sole source of income I wouldn't be able to support myself. It's sad and frustrating to know that I can't make a living from something I love and enjoy doing, which is writing, publishing books, and helping others get their books published. But I know there are people that are able to do that and make enough that a "real" job isn't necessary. How do they manage to do that?

I was always a 'real job' person.

@lovebuglena I was lucky - I had three 10 year jobs, and loved them all.

Nothing beats a "real" job money-wise. But it may end up being something you hate.

I don't personally know people like this so would be hard for me to find out how they do it.

I am not sure that I ever had a job where I loved what I was doing all the time and where it made me happy.
