I really don't like his attitude. He's easily irritated. His always serious and quiet. His face is crumpled like paper. He is always looking for something around the house to be angry about. He is not a cool father

Sometimes my dad will have a bad mood, especially when he doesn't feel well. I also don't like that. Since we are already tired when we go home. Why he can't give us a bright smile? It really spoils my mood to see his serious face as if we have done something wrong. This is not good.

@CoralLevang I know sometimes life is hard. But at least try to be nice to others. I also meet troubles and feel tired at work. But I try not to bring my mood to home.

How old is your father? He is alone? I mean is his wife still with him? May be he is unhappy because he feels alone. Or this can be a sign of senile dementia.

I think 62. He is like that even when he was still younger. Maybe that's his disposition really. He is grumpy

@LadyDuck There's nothing wrong with him. You will be surprised when he is more happy and jolly. Being grumpy is normal to him

Too bad. That is the way it is in some families. How does your mom handle his behavior?

@CoralLevang to be honest my dad was my idol when I was a teen but now I hate his attitude too as he is also like @averygirl72 's father. That's why my comment is like that

It's becauae they're hiding their true feelings. They want to look tough like action stars. In reality, they are as frail as you are. They act that way because that is how he was brought up. And as the saying goes, "you can't teach old dogs new tricks". The best thing you can do is to reach out and look for his soft spot. Make him feel that someone loves him. With that, I am sure he can give a smile or two for you.

@Neiltarquin Being grumpy is normal to him. If you find him in a good mood it's a miracle
