where do people go to after death

I try finding out this from a catholic priest and he said when once a person dies,they go straight to purgatory.But my pastor is of the view that people die and go straight before God for judgement,others believe that we died and fades into oblivion,we are non-existence.
This is quite confusing,where do you think we go to after death?

The answer is we'll never know until we die. There are lots of beliefs, assumptions but we cannot prove any until we get there. I personally want to believe that we all go to heaven with an eternal life free from pain and sadness but again we will never know until our time. ??

2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. (KJV)
There is no mention of Purgatory anywhere in the Bible. Yes, there is judgment, but when we die as believers in Jesus Christ, we will be with him in heaven.

@augusta123 There aren't any sinning believers - yes, we are all sinners, but we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (KJV) When God forgives your sin, you're no longer guilty of sin, therefore there are no sinning believers in heaven.
