Why Do Chefs Wear Tall Hats?

It's a warm end-of-winter into Spring bounce Tuesday. Shucks, I'll miss the walk and scooter to the park with my homeschooling children today. Instead, I've abandoned them to my good older son who's having a week of term break from Uni.-- because I was called to work in the kitchen today. The café dishes await me at 11 am. So, the wait in the library is quiet and rest from morning preps at home, for a change. My daughter-Chef, who never wears a tall hat, will be there, too. As her presence at the Italian café-restaurant adds cheeriness any day. Meanwhile, our Chef finds another way to keep her hair from falling with some sort of clips and pins under her some sort of hat. It's not tall and ballooned at the top to allow air to circulate around her brainy skull. To help cool her head in the kitchen where the temperatures get very high. She and her Sou-Chef wear some sort of hats that aren't tall. But are sanitarilily white. I wonder why? Anyway, it's nice here by the library's lounge windows.

I wonder a lot of things but had never wondered about that but it makes sense. White always looks pristine and sanitary, I think.

So that's the reason why tall hats are wear by chefs. White looks clean.

You mean the Toque? Officially, it used to indicate rank & possibly skill level & definitely salary level, if applicable. The one with the tallest is Head Chef. How do you find Home Schooling?

I don't know. I haven't researched about the official name of a chef's tall white hat. Shame on me! With homeschooling, I am stronger and braver in my resolve to continue homeschooling my children. With the invasion of 'Safe School Sexuality Program' corruptiing our education system.... No, thanks!
