What was your friends' or family's reaction towards Bitcoin?

When I got to know about bitcoin, I immediately introduced it to family and friends. My friends were very eager to know more about it. They were very positive and started their own research. They tried faucets, trading, and even gambling. My family was the total opposite. They were terrible negative about it. They kept insisting that it is the currency of the dark web and they did not want to have anything to do with it. They said it was illegal. How about your family and friends? What were their thoughts on it?

I haven't really told about it to my family, but I'm pretty sure they'd be skeptical about it, too. I'm still learning about bitcoin, I'm actually interested in it since I heard it's one of the ways you can get paid online, but I'm in the dark up to now about it.

Admitting you do not know is the first step to learning. Others would simply dismiss it as scam without lifting a finger to learn, so good for you.

I am curious but it is only fine for you to invest what you can afford to lose.

In any investment, you should put money that you can afford to lose. Get to know more about it first, befre putting any money in it. You can actually get some for free in Bitcoin faucets/ forums.

Everybody says yes to what I do because they trust me even if at first they dont know anything about it. Now my teen age daughter helps me in the computer and my wife deposits a few pesos daily at a 7-11 shop for our savings in pesos and bitcoins. Even my 85 year old mother now asks me the price of btc from time to time

@Kattleya i was already bitcoining when it was only less than 400 dollars per btc, my mother had a harder time grasping the idea of why and how computer codes being solved and mined becomes money.

@louievill Lucky you! I was already introduced to it at that time and I didn't really care about it. I was just content on getting payments, but never held it. This year I'm starting all over again with my Bitcoin savings.

It's hard for the older generation to understand these innovations, they barely use their smartphones properly, what more grasping the idea of a money in the internet right? The good thing with me is, my dad introduced the idea to me because he invested in trading, and now, quite a few in my family does. I think it's a matter of properly explaining and the open-mindedness of the person being explained to. Why would big banks and companies all over the world invest if they know that they wouldn't be getting big profits from it right?

I don't know about my family members reaction on bitcoins, but I am thinking it is like gambling, everyday i see there is a changes in the rates. Who invested in bitcoins last year are very lucky they can sell those and make huge money now.

"Who invested in bitcoins last year are very lucky they can sell those and make huge money now." -- True! or they can just hold it longer for the rice to be higher next year...

No reactions because they are not tech people and I do not discuss CryptoCurrency to them. I have friends who joined bitLanders (bitlanders paid us Bitcoin before) and faucets as my referrals because they trust me. LOL
