Spent Whole night in a terminal because missed the flight in just few mins

Hi Friends, Did any one experienced this kind? Last Month I was travelling to Memphis from India. Had 3 connecting flights. At Chicago my flight arrived 40 mins delayed than the scheduled time. I had to catch a domestic flight from there to Memphis. Even though I was given express coupon I could not reach domestic gate on time. It took time to complete immigration, collect lugguage and re checkin to domestic and reach terminal. by the time I reached scheduled gate the board changed to boarding complete and I had to wait 14 hrs for next available flight. But one good thing happened is I found an old lady from Canada who had also missed flight and waiting like me for next 14 hrs. After I met her the time was awesome. I got a grandma and we shared lots of stuff and talked till next morning boarding time. She is in touch even today. She was an agel to me that day otherwise I would not have courage to stay alone whole night.
