With Hurricane Harvey continuing to pummel parts of Texas, it's time for #7 in my Favorite "Weather" Songs series, which is basically songs with some form of weather in the title. The 7th spot belongs to "Electrical Storm" by U2.
Produced by electronica legend William Orbit, "Electrical Storm" was specially recorded for U2's 2002 compilation album, The Best of 1990-2000. Despite being an international hit, it was seven years before the band performed the song live, in Barcelona, as part of their 360° tour.
And "Electrical Storm" was definitely an international hit. While it stalled at #77 on the Billboard Hot 100, it reached Top 5 status in 14 other countries, including #1 in Italy, Portugal, and Spain.
I've attached the official video, which stars drummer Larry Mullen Jr. and actress Samantha Morton.
Enjoy!

There are three different versions of this. I like this William Orbit mix, personally.

Not many share U2 on here, think JJ might have been the other I have seen. Cool stuff.

It probably was him. I envy his vinyl collection.

U2! Thumbs up! This is one of their more unusual efforts where not so typical U2 sound.

I know. The Edge isn't running his guitar through an effects pedal like usual.

I'm glad you liked it. Technology definitely keeps music moving forward, for the most part.
