Is Heaven a place or way of life

This is another confusing thing to my immature mind.Sometimes we talked about living a heavenly life with God here on earth and In the same vain talks about going to meet God in heaven after Judgement.
Even Jesus while on the cross didn't promised the thief on the left heaven but paradise.I wonder why he didn't take him to heaven with him or is paradise Heaven?
what's your thought,Are we sure Heaven is really a place?

I too would like to live in paradise, as it was to be the purpose of this earth before satan came to deceive the first woman on this planet.

For me, I believe in hell and heaven.because of my Holy book only. it is so perfect.And all the believers of religion islam have the target to attain Heaven.
According to my holy book jesus peace be upon him has no authority to promise a person to get heaven.jesus pbuh is only God's mighty messenger.

Everyone here will answer you according to his faith or thoughts, As a Muslim there are paradise (heaven) and hell, both are places not a spiritual things, paradise is a certain place, which contains things that what humans know and other things humans haven't neither hear nor see, and hell is a place as well, it contains a horrible various torture ways.
