Some people have a gift for remembering Birthdays, Anniversaries and such other important days pertaining to their close family, extended family, friends etc etc..I feel it is good to wish people because we all like being remembered by people who matter to us. In my own case , while I remember a few occasions with regard to my children, siblings, parents and a couple of close friends I tend to forget others . I have felt very embarrassed and bad on a couple of occasions . In the recent past Facebook has helped since most of my family and friends are on it and I get a reminder , that is if they have given the option to do so..other than that how do you all manage to remember ?

I have an incredible memory for birthdays, anniversaries and alike, I remember all my friends, family and even people we know and are not close friends.

I thought so, because you normally remember things accurately even here . It is great to have this gift because not many can remember .. and

@LadyDuck Thats great, my mother is nearing 90 and in good health and she too is very good with her memory, the only problem is her hearing. We have had many amusing incidents which she takes sportingly ..

I don't manage to remember birthdays and such. I just know my own family's birthdays and of course my close friends.

@toniganzon I can understand that , because it is a circus with everyone wishing ,liking and posting pictures on a daily basis. I use it sparingly and have not revealed my own birthday ..

@kiran8 I don't like going to Facebook at all. I quite going there 5 years ago and I don't like my friends to greet me on my birthday over Facebook.

In general, I remember zodiac signs of people. Like Anna (Lady Duck) is pisces, Pony is Virgo, JJ is Capricornian as is Maluse and Dawny, DE is virgo, DJ is cancer, Coral is Leo, mommaj Taurus, Valerie - Cancer, and Hatley Scorpio...I zero in on dates too at times...sometimes I get them wrong...but I used to remember almost 30 odd...at a stretch..nowadays memory is failing me. Other days, anniversaries etc., no...I don't remember them. :(

That's brilliant , it is utilising your mental faculties to the maximum. I feel it is something you are born with and develop over time . My brother is the same , he never forget a face or a name , even if he has met them just once. He surprises me all the time .

@kiran8 .. This month September 7th is the birthday of Pony ji (TheHorse)...if you want to wish him. His birthday is easy to remember. One day before is mother mary's feast which we used to celebrate in hostels.

I used to be able to remember things like birthdays, anniversaries and such but not anymore. I have to keep everything on a calendar now or I will forget them. Now I just need to remember where I put the calendar.

@kiran8 I sure wish I could remember them. It would be easier than using a calendar.

That's the first thing I do when I wake up in the morning - look at the calendar and think who among my family/friends/relatives/colleagues celebrate their birthday. ;)

I am a person who is very particular on remembering birthday and anniversaries of the people in my life. I mean, once any one told me about any special day then I save the same in my brain. However, recently I am not that much perfect. Even I know the date, I can remember the day before, but I may forget the same in morning and remember in later time in the day.

@Sreekala that is really great , if you can remember it without being told by someone else. I am now making a note of all the Birthdays and other occasions so that I don't forget , the problem is I sometimes am so caught up with work , I forget to check my diary

I am good at remembering but have on occasion forgotten when things were too hectic. But even when I forget there is a somewhat niggling feeling that comes to mind on that day
