I have always been under the impression that likes do count towards earnings.

@velvet53 Yeah, but some here said that since it is still a form if interaction, therefore we still get paid by receiving it. Then again, no one can really say if that's 100% accurate.

It doesn't specifically say that we earn from likes it says "If no one reads what you wrote, interacts with it, or otherwise considers it interesting, then you likely won't earn anything."
From that statement I'd say a like would be evidence you considered something interesting and also an interaction so I'm pretty sure a like will earn for someone receiving one.
