Distance is not for the Fearful

I have seen several discussions asking about long distance relationships and whether you believe it or not. I have seen discussions seeking advice how to make long distance relationship work.
I saw this quote on twitter and it made me think about all those discussions and I agree with this quote. Distance is for the bold, someone who knows how to sacrifice, someone who can endure and remain faithful, it's for someone who truly understands.
So if you are not that bold, don't get yourself involve in a long distance relationship. Save yourself some trouble and heartaches.

@LadyDuck Yes, and it's not a common thing. A lot of people are still immature when it comes to relationships.

@toniganzon I admire those who are in a LDR but I do not think it works to be honest. LDRs are bound to fail for a number of reasons. Consider that even in relationships that distance isn't an issue, there will be problems, what more if distance is factored in?

@allen0187 A Korean student of mine told me the same thing. He never believed in one. But I know some couples who succeeded.

be bold, have faith and strong will..
sometimes, having long distance relationship will work only if you feel at peace to the person, like a child to the mother.. no matter how far there'll always be a home to comeback to..

I agree with you. I was ever in one but it never worked. I think long distance relationships can work if both partners are willing to make it work. :)

@toniganzon I have seen a lot of people get divorced too and remember I was divorced myself twice. I loved them but they never loved me but only used me to get what they wanted at the time.
I think love does conquer all but only when there is love. The word love if thrown around like the seeds of dandelions and most people have no idea of what love really is.
I have dated a few other women after my divorce but discontinued the relationship in a short while as I could see there was no love. Maybe I'm a bit wiser these days. At least I hope so.
That's my three cents on love.

Dear Felix, I don't believe in love conquers all. You see I have learned that love alone can't make a relationship work. A lot of things have to be considered. I've seen a lot of people claiming love conquers all and ended up getting a divorce.

I've always believed in myself as a confident and strong person and that no amount of distance could destroy what I feel towards another person. But fortunately, I have never been in one.

that is true. a colleague of mine (a former student) always posts on FB about missing her husband who is on a combat destination. she says it is now a long distance relationship, and she does not know if her husband might find somebody to comfort him when he is sad.

Yeah that's really difficult. That's why it takes a bold person to make a long distance relationship work.

You were already married when the distance got in between. I'm sure you were able to build a solid relationship by then.

I'm involving a relationship with a distance about of 15.5 miles. However, if two don't have time to stay together, it do matters.

That's why the quote said, 'it's for those who are willing to spend a lot of time alone in exchange for a little time with the one they love.'

Well, For me it`s not only being bold..It`s more of trusting each other that makes a long distance works well because if you had a lot of negative thinking inside your mind..I guess you know what will happen next..

Being bold means being brave to be able to endure everything. Trust is given in all relationship whether long distance or not since trust is the basic foundation of all kinds of relationship.

So, I am bold . . I am faithful and still love my ex-gfs even though they are gurang now and some of them have dozen children. One of them even doubled her weight (She used to weigh 112 lbs.) But traces of the beauty that captivated my heart are in intact. Anyway, this young pretty lady (above photo), who turned 40 lately, is not my GF, but she captivated my heart and soul.

Distance relationship has it positive and negative impacts. It a kind of relationship that survive keenly on understanding and trust. Most people find it difficult to trust eachother but if you can build it, the relationship can be guaranteed.

Trust is the basic foundation of every relationship. In long distance reilatinshipship you need more than trust. You need to be brave, to be bold, and to know all the things that the quote has said.
