A not-to-be-messed-with war machine

At Chateau du Clos Lucé in France we were able to see number of Leonardo da Vinci’s incredible inventions. Some were of various ‘war-machines’ as there was continual fighting between the various hierarchies of the region.
I thought this was one of the more bizarre inventions. Using what looks like an arrangement of spindles and turntables to provide the rotation, the vicious-looking scythes would have brought carnage to whatever troops they encountered. Note the cutting blades on the wheels too.

That is a wicked variation of a Roman chariot.

Hope the thing does not jam when you charge straight at a phalanx of soldiers in formation and the horses get shot by an arrow
but I do agree it's pretty wicked.

I didn't notice the wheels until you pointed them out. I wouldn't want to run up against that at all.
