I am SO ready for fall!

I missed most of the summer due to recovering from two major surgeries but I am now beginning to feel like myself again - too late to do many of the things I would have liked to do. No traveling, even overnight, no garden, no harvest. But I am ready for fall now. I don't have pumpkins to harvest or tomatoes to can, but I will go to the farmer's market and the pumpkin patch and make do. Today is cool and tonight is going to feel cold, below 50, and that makes me think of fall and winter even more. I want to get things "put up" and do all those last minute chores before cold weather sets in, although I know we have several more weeks of summer type weather first. I am going to enjoy this fall to the hilt!

I am looking forward to fall also. It is so much cooler which makes it nice for walks and sitting outside enjoying Nature. I also spend my time getting things ready for winter and planning what projects I want to work on. By getting things now it will save me having to run to town when the weather gets bad.

It was almost too cold this morning! I didn't go out until midday. I get the urge to can and stock up on food. It must be an instinct of some kind! I make plans for winter projects, too.

@peavey It wasn't too bad this morning. Yes, it is time to start thinking about winter projects. I am making a spot to keep everything so I will have them handy.

@velvet53 It was a little warmer here this morning, too, but there is a definite chill in the air. I have a dresser in my office/craft room where I stockpile things.

@just4him I would, too! As long as I had to miss a season, I guess summer was the best.

I hope you are fully recovered from your surgeries. Even so, take it easy. We didn't have much of a harvest from our garden. No space for pumpkins this year. Have to go to the store to pick one or two up for decorating.

Sometimes life has a way of making us stop to smell the roses. Best wishes for your continued recovery and happy fall season.

Thank you You are right. Life makes us slow down, even when we don't want to.

I am kind of excited for lesshot and humid weather but fall only seems to last about a month here before we are catapulted into winter.

I remember that washing machine! Glad to see it's out of the repair shop again. I am so NOT ready for fall. I still have a lot of gardening to do. Or more correctly, weeds to get rid of. The yard was completely infested with them. I spent most of the last two months working on the front yard, which looks pretty decent now, and I've started on the back yard.

In our part of the world we have a very short fall but I love it.
