Childhood is officially over...

United States

I know I should be happy today since it's my 18th birthday and I almost got killed about a month ago. I almost didn't live to see this day, but I can't help but feel depressed about childhood being over. I'm so afraid of adulthood and now I'm finally here. When I was 12, I was counting down to this day, but now, I wish I could just go back. I feel it went too fast. Yesterday i was doing things really childish like watching SpongeBob and having a kids meal, but today makes the beginning of the end guess.

Welcome to adulthood where there is more responsibilities as well as fun. I still watch Spongebob and it's awesome. Being an adult doesn't mean you should be boring. Do you!

Happy birthday to you and many happy returns of the day! I'm sure nobody will mind you doing 'childish' things for many more years.

I'm late but happy birthday. I can tell you from my experience that adulthood comes with many responsibilities and people always exlect you to behave like a 30 year old when you are just 20 or 21.

I know you've heard it before, but take the time to really enjoy being so young! Before you know it, you'll be 55 (like me) and thinking that 18 is so young! Yes, I agree, there is something wonderful about being a child that you will definitely miss. But I have found that there is something delightful about every age that I've been. Happy birthday and wishing you many more!

Happy birthday!! Age is a state of mind!! Remember growing older is compulsory growing up isn't!!! You don't stop playing because you get old you get old because you stop playing!! These were my dad's mottos in life and he stayed true to them all his days. 18 isn't the end it's the beginning!!
