Might have to change her name

I took Little Leah in for her vaccinations this morning. I thought she weighed around eighty pounds. Good enough for a black Lab mix.
The Vet helper had Leah stand on the scale. Hmmmmmm. Oh My Gawd.
93.2 pounds.
I walked out in shock.
Well, Little Leah, shall I call you Big Bertha now?
I know that you had best continue to walk nicely on the leash cause I do not have the strength or energy to fight with a moose. A sweet, girly moose but still a moose.
The little dog in the photo is Sally and the kitty is Beau Teak. The big black dog? Yup. Leah.

@TiarasOceanView Do you think Leah looks like she's obese? (I won't be insulted. Just curious.)

@TiarasOceanView Thanks. Don't you just hate the sound of the word obese?

Well she still looks adorable. A bit big but then she must have a health appetite. My cat Sid never loses his form and looks slim. He eats like a horse and when I bend over to pick him up he is all muscle and weighs like a ton.

@celticeagle I think big old Buddy dog has a good life. He rarely goes anywhere. His owner allows him to chew up magazines and spit them out. I guess that's fun for him.

@celticeagle I know a guy whose dog is wider than he is tall. Not joking. Wish I could sneak a photo. Buddy dog is so lovable and yet I worry about his health.

@divalounger I hope so. Little Sally there in the photo was such a whirl wind when she was a pup- she's a Blue Heeler. I went to obedience classes with Sally. When we adopted Leah, I then had some ideas on how to handle a growing pup.

@divalounger I have posted about my work with Leah. She's five now. We've been team working for five years. This is a long answer to the point of yes! She and I walk as a team, no dragging me and sometimes my vertigo.

Yeah, over 90 is just a bit much @sallypup . Around 80ish would be better. I guess it's time to buy a treadmill.

@nanette64 So you think she looks fat? She might be slowing down a bit now cause of her fake knee parts- just a few months ago she got over the last one of those.

@nanette64 We have three acres here so she has opportunities to get some exercise. Thanks for your honesty.

@sallypup I don't think she 'looks' fat. Her front chest section is a little thick. As long as she stays physically active, she should be okay.

Sounds like a Tilly to me, Bertha is way over used. She does look muscular rather than fat, 93lbs suits her ..... and now she'll eat ya outta house n home.

I had a black lab too and she quickly got to the 90 pound mark. I felt it was because she eat any and everything and hunted too.
