And that's enough weather for now. We've reached #1 in my Favorite "Weather" Songs series, which is songs that mention some sort of weather in the title: "The Revolution was Postponed Because of Rain" by Brooklyn Funk Essentials.
Brooklyn Funk Essentials are an acid jazz collective led by bassist Lati Kronlund. I've said it before, but their 1995 debut, Cool and Steady and Easy, is one of the best acid jazz albums I've ever owned. I like it so much that I even have it on my iPod.
"The Revolution was Postponed Because of Rain" is the third track on that album, and is a great example of the "anything goes" spirit of acid jazz. In this case, the song utilizes spoken word in telling the story of an underground group of militant's that keep finding reasons to put off their planned revolution.
It might just be the funniest song you'll hear all day.
Enjoy!

It's true that acid jazz is not for everyone. Thanks for giving it a shot.

She posts a lot of great old country, the kind of stuff my grandpa listened to. I wish more people appreciated it.
