I always look for opportunity to save money.
Recently I just started using this awesome app. To help me save money, by rounding up my transactions to the nearest dollar and putting that extra cent into my savings account. I'm saving money without knowing it. :)
That's one of the ways I do my smart saving.

I have tons of money saving tips, but it depends on what you're looking for. One thing I used to do is save aluminum cans and recycle them, then add that money to savings. When you use coupons, don't just let the money you saved dribble away, but take out that exact amount and put it away. You would have spent it otherwise, so why not?

Whenever I shop somewhere using money instead of a credit card, any coin change I get I put into a jar and then deposit it into the bank. Not sure if it necessarily means I am saving money, but it does feel like it.

@payout Also, if I find change on the ground I usually pick it up. Why not? It's money. Though I will admit, sometimes I am a bit hesitant to do so when there are many people around.

What is this interesting app? And could you be a little more specific about how it connects with your bank? like... say you went to a store to buy a drink... you go up to the register and... I'm just having trouble understanding how an app in your phone plays it's part unless you talk to your bank about it...?
Looking forward to hearing back from you!

Hey Anomaly,
The app is called Qaptial.
So you would have to put in your bank information to have it connect with it. (routing and account number) So it monitors your transactions. It will create/open a free account where you funds will be transfer to. You can have access to this account with a Visa Card or transfer it over bank to your bank (no cost/fees)
It can also connect to apps like facebook, twitter, Health app (iPhone). Example, for every X amount steps you walk, you can have it transfer funds from your checking account to Qapital savings account. (health App)
For every post your put on Facebook or Twitter you can create a Rule to have it transfer funds over.
Even have it connect with the Weather, when the temperature goes before 32 or about 75 transfer a $1 or something.
There's some videos on Youtube, if you're looking for more detail. I did put the link in my bio, you'll get $5 for your first goal achievement.
It's a smart and cool way to save money and set goals. I'll highly suggest to check out YouTube review.

Have you ever considered using coupons when you go shopping. I hear that a few people save some money by doing this.

Hey Keith,
yeah, I do use coupons as much as I can. They seem to be hard to find or just get in the mail. I do have another app on my phone just for coupons. The supermarket I shop out sends some to me, but also has a digital one where you can add with your store card. lol.
Coupons are a great way to save money.

That's a good app. To save money, buy what you need. Clip coupons and even it for items, even not on sale. Buy things in bulk that would last a long time. For saving electricity, use it during the peak hours and turns lights and other appliances off, if you don't use them.

Hey Kirsten,
Yeah, a lot of the members here are suggesting coupons. (great way to save)
That's a very smart idea about not using Appliance during peak hours.
I've been slowly changing my Light Bulbs to LED bulbs. They're a lot better than CFL bulbs and last much longer. Now they're much more affordable.

These apps do what I have been doing for years, and I think it is a good thing. Especially for those who find it difficult to save. As for saving tips? Do I have tips? Many. My profile is loaded with discussions about it. There are so many ways to save money it boggles my mind more people don't find a way to do it for themselves.
But it sure is fun.
