What makes you stay in your job?

I have been teaching in the university for more than 11 years now. And do I still plan to spend another decade in this job? Yes, because I consider teaching more than a job. It's a challenging job but I look forward to every semester facilitating students' learning and gaining learning opportunities even from the students. My students have especially taught me how to cope with the behaviors and characterisitics of "millenials."

Gosh! I really want to give some ideas but I was not able to stay in my job for long too! I think it really depends on how you enjoy working there

I agree with you. I think it's one necessary requirement for you to stay in a job - know how to enjoy in your workplace :-)

Your job is also an amazing one. My husband is a mechanical engineer and he likes designing, too. But his position in the company where he's working is not on mechanical design.

@ronelaine Now I am also more inclined to work in research and development. What does your husband do.

I'm retired after working for 40 years in secondary grammar schools. I never thought of changing my job although teaching classes with more than 30 pubescent boys and girls can be exhausting.
I liked when I explained something and saw how insight struck them and they had understood something.

This is an inspiring story and would definitely encourage other teachers to stay!
