How do you feel about sleeping? Do you enjoy it? Is it a waste of time? Why do we dream and have nightmares? Do you sleep well? What are your sleep habits? Are there different dimensions of sleep? What happens when we sleep or when we don't sleep? What do you know about sleep? What is sleep all about? Romans 13:11 Easy-to-Read Version 11 I say this because you know that we live in an important time. Yes, it is now time for you to wake up from your sleep. Our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.

Lately I have found that I sleep comfortably but I wake up at certain times during the night. I have read about sleep. Take a look at this link you might find it interesting. One question to you - if we didn't need sleep what would we do with all those hours of extra time on our hands?

Thanks for the site, I'll check it out. If we didn't need to sleep, we could spend more time on MyLot!

I sleep because it is what we do. Most times I would rather be doing other things than sleeping and sometimes I think it is a waste of time. But the experts say it is necessary, that I will get fat, heart disease and a number of other ailments if I don't sleep. So I sleep - fitfully most of the time.

I personally hate to go to sleep at night but I do enjoy sleeping in the morning, especially on rainy, cloudy or stormy snowy days.

@db20747 Yes, but in this world it is hard to have total control over what we feel like doing and what we need to do.

I think sleeping is necessary for us to take a break. Try to imagine if we don't have to sleep, we may have to work 24 hours

My sleep pattern is non existent. It is after midnight and I am going to try to sleep but I am awake way too early too. I miss the days I slept for 8 hours, but they are long gone.

Does not having a sleep pattern affect your life in a negative way?

@1hopefulman absolutely. I am often tired and floaty and have to dig deep for energy most days.

@1hopefulman Me too!! I see you put a picture of my cousin up there. A koala bear. We sleep at least twenty hours a day! He looks nice a cozy. I like to be cozy, then I can finally fall of to sleep after drinking cinnamon tea.

@1hopefulman Me too!! I see you have a picture of my cousin up there!!! A koala Bear. We sleep at least 20 hours a day!! Talk about getting a good night's rest. My cousin looks nice and cozy. For me it takes about three to four hours to wind down, then I fall asleep after my cup of cinnamon tea. Sleep sometimes eludes me.

We were created with a need to sleep.. our brain needs to recover and the body needs too, I think- I don't remember much about my dreams, but it must have some function too..

Yes, the main reason for sleep is to rest, recuperate, recharge and to repair. When we can sleep, it is also very enjoyable and refreshing.

As you know I have my good night and bad night when it comes to sleep. After just reading Romans 13:11, I wonder if we are being told something.

Many of us have nights when sleep is very elusive. The Scripture seems to parallel our situation at this time.

@velvet53 Here is another one talking about being spiritually asleep that I find interesting. 1 Thessalonians 5:6 Easy-to-Read Version 6 So we should not be like other people. We should not be sleeping. We should be awake and have self-control.

Going to sleep is something I look forward to. The thing is it takes me a long time to fall asleep and there are nights I have get up several times to go to the bathroom and then again it takes awhile to fall asleep.

Sleep is like blinking. You are unconscious one min and the next you are conscious . I like the verse. :) It is asking us to be alert because Jesus is coming
