Favorite "Strange" Song #6 - "Strangers When We Meet"

Part of the fun of doing these music countdowns is coming up with a theme, and then wracking your brain in order to come up with songs. This particular series revolves around the word, or a variation, of "Strange." We are at #6: "Strangers When We Meet" by the Smithereens.
"Strangers When We Meet" is the leadoff track from their 1986 full length debut, Especially for You (which is a great album, by the way.)
A song with an old timey pop sound, "Strangers When We Meet" was released as a single (the fourth single from that record,) but only charted in the UK, where it reached #21.
"Strangers When We Meet" is one of my favorites, which is saying something, considering that there are no bad songs on that album.

I am following you and I like very much the music you propose . I have listened the song and again I have to tell that you have beautiful musical tastes .
I was not knowing the song you made me listen neither the band producing neither the song itself . In my opinion 80 ' music is very depressing and ( I guess The Smithereens are a 80 ' band ) . Is that true Scott ?
