Most Productive Time of Day

Are you a morning person? A night owl? Or does it just depend on what's going on in your life?
For a few years now, I've noticed that my most productive time of day is usually
3 p.m. to 11 p.m. I tend to have more physical energy and mental focus later in the day.
I've been wondering why it changed, because I used to be a morning person.
I just realized that I've been through a series of life-changing, difficult events in recent years. I really haven't slept very well many nights due to grief, stress, menopausal symptoms, marriage issues, caring for a sick relative, etc.
I work from home and set my own schedule. Even though I've continued to get up fairly early these past few years, I was taking an early afternoon power nap most days, just get through the day.
My life is becoming more peaceful again, thankfully! I don't need naps very often now. Maybe I'll learn to be a morning person again! But If I'm able to accomplish my goals, I guess it doesn't matter that much if I'm a morning person or a night owl.

Yes, I guess as long as you feel well and can get your work done, it doesn't matter too much when exactly it is. For all the years I worked, I would get up at 6am every morning. I was never really a morning person, but you do what you have to do. Now that I'm retired, I've found that my internal clock is set to go to sleep between 11 and 12 and wake up around 8am.

I started a new job in 2010. I had to be there a little before 7 a.m. I lost my brother and a couple of friends in 2011. Wow, it was so hard after that to focus at work, especially that early! But my boss and co-workers were kind and patient with me.
Yes, you do what you have to do! Thanks @1creekgirl.

I'm not really a morning person. I'm thankful my job is 1130-8pm as I work better in the afternoon/evening. I can be a night owl it just depends on what i am doing. Glad your life is a little more peaceful again and hopefully you can get back into a regular routine and have your mornings again to work so you can get more accomplished during the day.

Thanks for sharing @Blondie2222. Yes, I really need to get back on track. I feel like I'm behind on most everything in my life! LOL
But I have a lot to be grateful for too. And I am!

I guess most of us have had to adjust to different schedules, depending on circumstances. But I think our internal "clock" still has its preferences. Thanks for your comment @Hatley.

When I get up in the morning after my coffee is when I have the most energy. I try to get most things done at that time.
I'm sorry for all you have been through, I'm glad things are getting a little more peaceful for you though.

Thanks for your comment @SHOHANA. I remember when I was a morning person too, and I sometimes think I should retrain myself to be like that again.

You are so welcome Diana. You have to be what you are. It is also good to be an afternoon or evening person. Everyone has to do what is best for them.
