Feeling Better...Sort Of

I thought I should probably give you guys an update on how I'm feeling since I reported on Tuesday night that I was having some kind of weird reaction (nausea, dizziness, lightheadedness, headache, and a funky chemical taste in my mouth) to the sclerotherapy I had performed on my varicose veins earlier that day. Well, as far as the weird symptoms go, I am fine. I don't know if it was actually a side effect to the injection, or if I just had a panic attack afterward. At any rate, I feel okay now.
My leg sure is sore tonight though. I noticed the area where my visible varicose veins were is red and the veins are no longer visible. Which I am guessing must be normal since the injection was to cause those veins to collapse on themselves. Hopefully the area doesn't become inflamed -- I am keeping an eye on it in case it looks unusual and then I will call the vein specialist's office and ask if that's normal. They really didn't tell me what to expect afterwards. I hate when doctors do that. I'd like to know what to expect so I don't fret over every little thing.
Anyway, other than that I am fine. And I am sure that is just a normal side effect from having the injection, so I am not going to worry about it unless it feels warm, inflamed, or otherwise "weird."

It was for health reasons. I have venous reflux disease and it has been causing me pain and swelling in my legs. My mom also has it and her legs are bad (she gets ulcers from it) and I don't want to wind up with those issues further down the road.

@Yadah04 Still sore. I had venous ablations in both legs over the last two weeks also, so I guess that's to be expected. Hopefully once I'm all healed the pain will be gone for good.

@Srbageldog Well, it is a good thing you underwent sclerotheraphy then. How are you now?

Glad your feeling better and you hope it was just a side effect and it doesn't come back again. Yes i would keep an eye on your leg and make sure it doesn't get worse. Good luck

@Srbageldog That is great news. I would still keep an eye on it though as you never know.

Thanks. I called my doctor's office this morning and they said everything I'm experiencing is normal. So I'm not going to worry about it unless the red area starts feeling unusually warm or hot.

No, I wasn't prescribed any medicine, although I can take Tylenol for pain (it hasn't been bad enough to take Tylenol though, and I don't like taking it unless I really need it.) I am using a warm compress for pain relief.

Yes, I called the doctor just to double check and was told everything I'm experiencing is normal. Which is a relief.
