What do you think marriage should be?

So I am 29 and I've been married to the love of my life for five years now and together for 7 this November! Shewww when I first met my husband I was only 21 and he was 39 but we instantly hit it off, I had met him through a friend of mine and from the very first day that I met him at a bonfire he threw at his house it was like we instantly connected but at that time I was talking to his friend and my friend was talking to him crazy right? So that night I had asked him for a hug and he swooped me up off my feet and squeezed me so tight got cold chills just from him hugging me but I was scared to get in to another relationship because I had just ended and abusive 8 year cycle with my high school sweet heart and I didn't want to put myself in another relationship quickly like I did with my ex and end up in the same situation. So I decided to try and call him(Ray) and no answer then a few days later I text no answer! So I almost gave up. So about a week later I decided to send him a text once again and I asked hey do you need some help at work in which he did flooring like my dad so I had some knowledge of it. And he actually text me back and said yeah I could use a hand so I then asked well do you wanna pick me up at my house in the am or do you wanna come get me tonight and I'll just spend the night so you don't have yo go out of your way to get me so he ended up picking me up that night! We stayed up till 4 am just talking and till this day I am still here and I never left lol sounds crazy but honestly he is my soul mate we now have three beautiful daughters we own our own buissiness and it's growing every day. Trust and believe it has not been all peaches and cream for the last 7 years we have actually hit a lot of bumps in the road as far as having no money and no work at one point and even a friend of mine had gotten between us and we almost split but me being me and i had never been married before and he had been married two other times I promised my self when I married him that I would not end up one of those woman and I will fight for my marriage untill the day I die because I love him that much and I will continue to fight reguardless of a situation! People will say and do things to hurt you or break you but words alone do not hurt me and I will never let someone interfer between him and I and our little family ever again and all in all it was lessons learned and I learned that you can't trust every one and since my "so called best friend" decided to try and break me and my husband up with lies I decided that the only friend that I need is my husband because he is my best friend and always will be no matter what so for those of you who think that marriage is easy it's not it's bumpy but if you ever hit that rough patch stick it out and fight whether it's a man or a woman you do what you have to do to save it! Love is the best medicine so smile everyday because God lives us all??

I'm glad you're in a happy marriage, the statistics suggest you are in the minority
Marriage is not for me, I'm single and plan to stay that way and am happy(ish)...would like more money but apart from that I'm happy
Welcome to mylot, it's great to have new members
Just a small piece of advice, maybe add paragraphs to your discussion as it is pretty difficult to read such a big block of text.
