There are many accounts that I have online, email accounts, forum sites account, paypal account, bank account, writing online site account, social media sites accounts and many more.
Once, my Facebook account was hacked, a message prompt on my login that said I had logged in the account in another side of the world, which I DID NOT leave my country anyway, but luckily there wasn't anything important in my Facebook either, mostly are just garbage links.
Hence, I changed my account password in every 6 months which I NEVER did before. A lesson to learn. Never use the same password for all accounts and change them every 6 months. Since I have a forgetful memory, I jot the new password down in a booklet.
So, how often do you change your password?

I use a different password for every account I have and keep a list. I make them as difficult as possible. The one that allows me to do online banking, I change it after every time I use it. I have a list of about 30 codes and rotate them.

@peachpurple Yes! I use one at a time and change it right after use and I do it by phone. The list of 30 allows me not to have to think of a new one all the time.

Security is getting better now. When your account is opened in another browser or and in another country, it sends SMS text containing 4 numbers to your phone.
