Songs about weather with Rain in the title. Let's see how many you know? Here is one from You Tube to put you in the mood. Good luck and thanks for playing!
The song clues are as follows:
1. This song was used in the 1969 film "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance KId." You might remember Paul Newman doing bicycle stunts in the film while the tune was playing. This artists version reached # 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts for 4 weeks. It was the first American # 1 hit of the 1970's. Finally, you might recognize another hit by this artist called "Hooked on a Feeling."
2. Written by the groups lead singer while serving in the Navy. He was on the bridge of the ship sailing toward Japan in rough seas and pouring rain and this provided the inspiration for the tune's title. Glen Campbell played on this 1962 track as part of the West Coast session group called the "Wrecking Crew." Special clue: the way the rain had a certain "cadence or tempo to it" probably played into the song's title. Only top ten hit for this group.
3. This was a breakthrough hit for this family group who made many television appearances during the late 1960s and the early 1970s. This band was an inspiration for the Partridge Family TV show. This song is known to many as "The Flower Girl." The tune eventually reached # 2 on the Billboard Chart. The group performed this song on the Ed Sullivan show. In 1968 they had an American #10 hit with "Indian Lake." One of the group's members, Susan was 9 years old at the time, making her the youngest performer to have a top ten hit.
Name that tune! Bonus for naming the correct artists/band and we know all the titles have to do with rain.
Quick recap:
1. Song in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Artist also recorded "Hooked On a Feeling."
2. The rain had a certain "cadence or tempo which relate to the title of this 1962 hit.
3. Inspiration for the Partridge Family. Song also known as "The Flower Girl."
I want to thank all who participate, read the post, and try to anwer the trivia quiz. And you know what I say for your effort... Thanks for playing!
Hope these songs brought back a pleasant memory for some...Use those clues folks!!!!

For some reason, known only to them, my parents had the 45 of song #3.
Song #2 I first got to know when it was covered in country music. Of course, it's been covered a million times, but I love the original...and not just because he was in the Navy!
As for song #1's artist, he used to have the distinction of having the longest-titled #1 song in chart history. Don't know if that's still true, but it was in 1975 when the song hit #1. Took longer to ID the song than to play it.

@mildredtabitha I will give it try. Those songs are from the 60's. Pop genre. They were popular songs on the radio when I was growing up and have special meaning to me. Thanks for responding! Going to listen now.

The remaining Cowsills performed on the Turtles Happy Together tour 2 years ago by me which I went to. They played this song. So, it fit well into the Rain theme. Sometimes those bubble gum pop songs just stick in your head
