So, I have an old cellphone here that I probably haven't used for a year and a half. I do need it for a specific purpose but I think the battery is most likely past the point of no return. I was reading online about how to download a dead battery...very interesting. Apparently you can even put them in the freezer! Have you ever brought a battery back from the dead?

The battery in the freezer is a way to go, but you must know how to before proceeding. Wrap the battery in old newspaper and then wrap it twice in plastic. Place in the freezer and let it there 3 or 4 days. Remove from freezer, unwrap and let in a cool place, not in direct sun. Insert the battery into your phone and charge for at least 48 hours. Now try to power on the phone.

@snowy22315 It is exactly what I wrote, newspaper first and twice in plastic.

I have not.. putting them in a freezer doesn't sound smart.

It is an article I read about battery regeneration..by gear head types. I think they know what they are doing!

When mobile phone batteries have reached their limit or are left discharged for a long period of time, they eventually lose their ability to hold a charge. If your cell phone battery dies, you don't need to throw it out right away, why not...
