Why should we thank God?

My little pal asked me - Sir, why should we thank God?
I replied - for who he Is: He is the Creator and Giver of Life. So fam, why do you thank God??

I don't have enough time in this life time to list all the things I thank God for. But at the top is the fact that he loved me (and all of us) enough to send his son to die for my sins.
