Ravens of Odin -
As many Mill Otters (My Lotters) know, I am a photograph nut; that is, I really do enjoy making photographs for others to view and I also like to look at photos displayed by others.
One type of photograph that I particularly enjoy, both making and viewing, is that of the super-wide-angle type, commonly called a panorama.
There are a number of computer programs used by photographers to produce these panorama-type photos. Some of those programs are easy of downloading to and of use in the desktop computer. Other panorama-making programs are also for sale. One of the better of the free (open source) panorama programs is named for one of the two ravens of the Norse God, Odin.
That program bears the program name, "Hugin."
According to legend, Odin had two ravens that, daily, he would send out into the world to collect information for Odin's edification and use. The names of the two ravens were "Hugin." and "Mugin" (sometines spelled using two letter "n's instead of only one "n." Pronounced as "Hyoogin" and "Myoogin.").
Odin's two ravens symbolized mind and memory, and that is suitable for describing the great extent of the wide scenes that are shown within the greater than usual length and breadth of a typical panoramic photograph.
I had often wondered why it was that the panorama photograph program came to be named, "Hugin." Learning about Odin's two ravens explained it to me very nicely.

@TiarasOceanView - Some legends are lots of fun - For instance, the legend that Gus here is a remarkable person, handsome, urbane, wealthy, and always tells the truth even when he is lying through his teeth. -Gus-

I loved this post..Very interesting.
Once while attending a lecture the resource person was talking about the BlueTooth wireless data sharing program but why that particular name was chosen remains a mystery to me still
