What a whirlwind weekend we have had!
Last night I was blessed to celebrate our son's fiancée's Bachelorette party. My husband drove me to the downtown hotel and restaurant where the bridal party, the bride's mother, and I met for a fun dinner and celebration.
Afterwards, I went with the girls to a bar. I was wise to only have water there and let the young girls drink up a storm. While there, I saw a friend who joined us for some hugs and laughter.
My husband popped in to say hi to the girls, 4 1/2 hours after he had dropped me off. I went home with him and left the girls to party on.
Now he is in New York City at our son's Bachelor party. I hope it's as much fun as ours was.
Now on to the wedding!

@DianneN - These are such fun events. Since we have four daughters, we have celebrated all their weddings and had a great time! Now, with two granddaughters in their 20s, we are wondering when the celebrations will start again. Not too soon, I hope!

I have two sons and wonderful, beautiful, and talented daughters as I call them. Of course, my grandkids are much younger than yours, but I hope to live long enough to see them happily married! Being made a great grandmother wouldn't be too shabby either!

@DianneN - I think I have enjoyed my daughters as much as adults as I did as children. I love having a big, fun family. I'm sure you are enjoying having your family expand, too. It is so amazing to have all these young people in my life! I just distributed some of my mother's jewelry among my daughters and granddaughters, and they enjoyed it. She owned a lot of gold chains, watches and other jewelry. My daughters don't wear gold much, but they enjoyed having something from their grandmother / great-grandmother.

@DeborahDiane Yes, we enjoy our sons as much now as we did when they were growing up. They are fun, witty, and bright as could be. Such a pleasure, always. I've been giving pieces of jewelry to the girls, too. They are young enough to enjoy the fun pieces. The remainder will be divided among the females as stated in a codicil to our will. I don't want any fights or hard feelings. I'm sure your females appreciated such lovely tokens from grandma/great grandma. I am waiting to see if there will be anymore granddaughters to join our family. lol

Oh what fun, I would have also had water, or perhaps my fav liquid coffee. I wonder if bars these days have coffee. It's probably been 2 decades since I was in one lol. Have a most wonderful time at the wedding.

She looks lovely! I'm happy you got to have fun with her, and I say good for you for not drinking - I don't drink often, either.

WOW! wooow! Your daughter in law is so lucky!I can feel it even if I have not met you!You are my perfect definition of mother in law goals!I hope i get as lucky as her in the near future.
Its a very rare thing in fact i have never heard a mother in law/mother or any parent as a matter of fact attending their son's/daughters bachelor/bachelorette party. It would be seen as very weird and that is news enough to make headlines.
Glad you enjoyed I know the wedding will be awesome and you will all have a blast.Much more happiness to you all!
