Are we ready?

We once had a space race to land on the moon... One would assume Mars is next.. and due to all of our global catastrophes underway, it might not be a very bad idea. It is said that we will begin colonization probably around the year 2030...
My question is... do you think we are ready? We have too many bad apples and separation here on Earth that I believe it will just be another war zone and battle for territory. And also... the only people allowed to live on Mars will probably be the rich who can afford the land and the trip... What do you think?

@Mr_Anomaly Let the rich be the Guinea pigs there, facing any radiations or dangers first. By the time everything is safe, then us poorer could take a visit.

I am skeptical that humans can live in Mars. It is not habitable. Not at all. It is like a poison, not fit for human consumption. Mars is not fit for human habitation. Zero oxygen. Human will not last even a day. Maybe if science can convert carbon dioxide and harmful gases on Mars into useful oxygen, it maybe possible, but I doubt it.

You're correct that it is currently inhabitable, they were talking about several different ways to make it habitable before. it's only a matter of time until we find a way

@Mr_Anomaly Humans can be transported to Mars because robots landed there already. But the question is how long will humans last in that harsh environment? Will they bring tons of oxygen, or will they bring a laboratory space ship that will convert the gases into usable oxygen? Granted these problems are solved by scientists, the next problem will be who will rule Mars? Politics, chaotic and dirty politics, will come into play. As what we are experiencing here on Earth, it will be the same experience there in Mars too. Because of the so called basic human nature with the tendency to self-destruct.

You know. They are doing this race to Mars mighty quick if you ask me. They want to settle there and create a new life. Which leads me to believe that maybe they know something we don't. Maybe this planet will no longer exist as we know it. Maybe there are aliens here warning us about this. But we, the public, know nothing about this. I wonder if that is a possibility.

I think it's exciting that we will soon be taking the next step for man kind. I want to be alive to see this happen... and possibly be apart of it if such a thing would ever happen

I am... I'd rather wait it out though and see how safe it would be first though for others

I think it is high time that we discover other worlds nearby to explore and exploit for our needs. We are a growing every year and our resources are fast depleting because of this growth. I think that it is high time to explore space and make it for our own good. There will come a time that our planet becomes unsustainable anymore and the only option to survive is to find other places out of our own planet.

I agree with what you say. And, I really don't think man is meant to live there. The oxygen is not the way it is suppose to be for man to survive. Man would always have to wear some kind of spacesuit. There are just too many unknowns.
