So I was looking for an herb

In my dream I went with a young man and young lady on a scientific project. I was going to be their food preparer.
They told me what herbs and greens we could eat that were growing and there was plenty, however I wanted to find some elecampane. I kept mentioning this over and over.
It is actually an herb. It was mentioned in herb class on Saturday. I looked it up this morning as I could not remember what it is for. This is a free image. In my imagination it was a blue flower. It is used for respiratory support.
I wonder if this indicates I am needing help clearing my lungs?
Or does it mean the name fascinated me?
Other than this mystery that I kept repeating, I slept well last night. I hope you did as well.

I seldom remember dreaming. I have had a recurring nightmare in the past that I know came from a book I was reading. It also occurred after I ate a huge pickle. It is the only recurring dream I remember.

Yes, herbs are gentler medicine. If used long term, they help keep illness away.

I need to go out into the fields, with this image and see what matches. So many look alike. It is the root that helps your respiratory system.

I don't know about you but I certainly have always loved the name 'elecampane' and, like you, somehow expected it to be blue or purple until I looked it up some time ago. It seems to be associated with Helen of Troy and was said to spring up wherever her tears fell.
A lot of those old herb and spice names are very attractive. Other ones which always seem to me to have a certtain air of mystery are: Allheal, Costmary, Chervil, Fenugreek, Bergamot, Borage, Oregano and ... I find that each name I think of has a particular memory (and scent) associated with it..

Thank you sir owl for the additional lore. I love studying about herbs and feel graced by their presence around me. I think I need to find some elecampane and harvest the roots for a ticture. I had an awful time last year with respiratory issues. I have visited with some of these but not all yet.

I have had a recurring dream that was first born of my granny's garlic dill pickles.
