Well that's a half hour of my life I'm never going to get back

So, anyway, I take surveys AKA do research projects on Prolific Academic. It is a pretty good place to earn a bit of extra scratch..anyway, they pay on Tuesday now..so imagine my dismay when ever like maybe a year and a half of being on the site, they said my account was not verified..say what? So, I went to put in my phone number, the box onsite was not allowing me to put it in.. So, I use another browser which worked. Anyway..so they wanted to send me a text message..when they did..my phone was refusing to accept it since it is international I guess! I had to have my friend get the verification and tell me what it was he was not home I had to wait for him etc. I mean they could put a message on your dash that you need to verfify your account or send an email or something. These online sites are strange sometimes. Do your sites suddenly want to verify your identity? I mean they can't be too careful, but still..

There are so many sites which is like that. I prefer not doing it since they already askjng for my identity, just saying.

Well, yes, that is part of the process. I know what you mean though. I am a bit worried about having so much information out there sometimes.

I don't remember that ever happening, but I have run into various difficulties in the past. So maybe it happened and I've forgotten. Is that a site where you always qualify for the surveys? I always have trouble qualifying for them or I'd do them all day long.

They tell you up front whether or not you are eligible for the projects and if there is space in them. They aren't traditional surveys..some are fun, and some are a bit strange depending on the project.

It's really strange that they wouldn't tell you sooner that your account wasn't verified. I don't get it.

@snowy22315 Yes me too I used to do surveys but quit when they started to ask me to put human characteristics on soup and cars. That was enough for me lol.

That has to be a mess for you. I don't understand why some sites makes things so difficult.
