Steak for a Vegan?

Why would our son have chosen to have his bachelor party dinner at a steakhouse when he is a vegan?
I'll tell you why. His future brother-in-law is a chef, and he never had the opportunity to go to this very popular and famous New York City steakhouse. Our son promised to take him there a few years ago when he still was a meat eater. Up until recently, our son only ate fish. Now, like his fiancée, he is a strict vegan. Trust me when I say all the food there is fantastic.
So, to make all the meat eaters attending his bachelor party very happy, the steakhouse it was. They ordered steak, with a side of steak. Our son enjoyed salad, vegetables, and dessert.
By the way, a fun time was had by all!

@DianneN I know of it, but I have never been Dianne. Yes I stopped eating meat about 2 months ago and feel much better for it.

@kobesbuddy Poor Nate! That is so frustrating. The son who is getting married is notorious for leaving the house three times before he actually gets going. Lol! I must admit, he's much better now that he's on his own.

@DianneN Kids are always in a big hurry it seems, then 'Oops!' something they forgot! LOL My oldest grandson, Nate is notorious for forgetting his car keys, can't keep track of them!

Thank you! They all had a fun time, which makes me so happy for him. Everyone loved their steaks. I don't cook fish, but we eat it when we go out. Believe it or not, we do eat pork chops and ham in sandwiches. Neither of us had it growing up.

That is very generous of him to think of others instead of just his own diet. At least they all had fun and enjoy the meals!

Why did they choose to become vegan? Or, better said, what does veganism mean?

They aren't big meat eaters, anyway, but after reading how awful meat, chicken, fish, and any animal products are for the human body, not to mention the inhumane way animals are slaughtered, they decided to become vegans. That means eating no animal products-eggs, butter, etc.

I'm glad everyone had fun at the bachelor party, even at a steakhouse for meat eaters. I didn't know your son and future daughter-in-law were vegans. It will be easy to decide the menu once they're married. Cheaper too since meat is expensive.

That was so kind of your son to have his bachelor party there even though he doesn't eat meat. At least there was other delicious options for him to eat! My boyfriend is always thoughful when we go places to eat trying to pick where theres a variety of vegetarian food I can try.

That's what I thought of, he would like all his meat lover friends to enjoy the foods that's why.
I suppose there are also salads there so it will go well with steaks too.
We seldom eat steak. They are expensive and laden with cholesterol also. Though, I super love steak. My hubby would just don't let me ate a lot of it because he is worried for my cholesterol level.

His brother is the Best Man for the wedding and made all the arrangements months ago when my son was still eating fish. You're right. He had all kinds of salads and vegetable dishes that were delicious and filling.
Too much of anything is never a good idea, especially red meat. We cut way back on it ourselves.

It must be hard for him to turn vegan. I was raised a vegetarian and I turned towards meat in 10th grade however now I have gone back to being vegetarian again but it is way too hard sometimes especially when you go out for lunch or dinner where you have all these delicious dishes of which you already know the taste, that makes it more hard. But good for him I guess he has some good self control.
Btw did he turn vegan for his fiancée?

It wasn't hard at all for him to become a vegan. He never ever liked meat, even as a child. He's been eating only fish for several years. His fiancée became a vegan about three months ago, and he decided it wouldn't be difficult to join her. Now they harp on me, but I do like my meat and potatoes, although I do love all kinds of grains, beans, and vegetables, too.
I can see how difficult it can be for you, but being a vegetarian or vegan is definitely so much healthier for you. And the animals won't suffer needlessly.
