Niume is shutting down

I joined Niume some time ago in the hopes of earning some extra money online with my writing and my photos. Writers there were paid per view. I made it to around seven dollars and change in earnings ($10 was the minimum for getting paid) before Niume announced that it had discontinued its revenue program. Not only did I never reach $10 but I never got the seven and change I earned because it was below the minimum. I did not post anything new there after that because not only was I not able to earn anymore, but the views were low. It was a waste of time to post there. I just learned that Niume is actually shutting down. Seems they have not found a way to monetize the site so its able to stay afloat. If members did not download their posts, come October 2nd, when the site will cease to exist, all that's been posted will be lost and not recoverable. I better make sure all my stuff is in Word. What is with all these paying sites shutting down?

I'm so sorry. It appears that new sites come in with a bang and then fizzle into dust. It's a shame they won't pay what they owe you. Very unfair.

It is. They paid those that reached the $10 minimum. I was short of that, so got nothing! What also sucks is that I was getting close, and thought I would actually get to the $10. They ruined everything, and I didn't reach my goal.

@lovebuglena I understand and still think they should reward you for what you did earn. What a waste of your time, I'm sure.

@DianneN That is what I think but that never happens. At least my earnings, that I never got, were low. Imagine if a site's minimum to get paid was $100 and you got like $99 bucks... And then they chose to stop their revenue program and because you never reached $100 you lose that $99 that is rightfully yours.

Uh-oh. That was one on my list of to-do's . . . but I guess it'll never happen now. Ugh - another site bites the dust.

@lovebuglena Was Niume based on views? I know I've signed up for various sites and eventually lost interest - some from the very beginning. Hey, but you tried.

@much2say Yes, it was based on views from what I remember.

When I heard about Niume and the possibility to earn something I was excited. Thought I would do well there. But aside from never earning enough to get paid, the views were super low to my stuff. And I wasn't the only one with low views. Lost interest in posting there.

Personally because I think many Bite off more than they can chew, and have no idea on how to continue to pay everyone anymore like they could when they first did. Over the yrs I have seen many sites do that, and myLot even did it for a while. All you can do is have Faith but never take something for granted.

Gotta laugh about it. Took forever to listen to my friends and sign up. Wasn't even there for a year and they closed the doors! No biggie! Most of my stuff was republished content.

So another words, they made money off their member's work, while you members get nothing at all!:(
