Childhood Memory - I'm lost!

While chatting with @Srbageldog last night she mentioned a time in her childhood that she got lost, and that made me remember the only time I ever got lost as a kid.. so here it is:
When I was around 5 years old my mom, Grandmother and I went to the mall, to look around the KB•Toys store.
They both started looking at the front of the store, so I stayed at the door playing with the few toys they had on this fenced in table for kids to try out.
After about 8 minutes, my mom told me to lets go, as they were wanting to check out the prices on the toys in the aisles. So down the back we went.
I started playing with a toy.. and then looked up and I couldn't find them. I looked down every aisle, went to the front of the store, yelled "Mom, Grandma" over and over - but nothing.
So I started crying, which apparently no one noticed, and then went to the service desk right outside the store and told the "cop" I lost my Mom, and Grandmother.
So they radioed on the loud speaker of the whole mall, my moms name and my name and where to go to get me.
And next thing I knew, my mom was standing right next to me! Asking me and the guy why they announced that I was lost and stuff, when I wasn't.
Because as it turns out.. she was at the end aisle of where I was playing with the toy, watching me the whole time! I just never saw her .
And when she saw me go up to the guy, she thought I was just asking him what he wanted for Christmas, as I was doing with all the workers in the store.. since it was sometime in October. .
So.. I guess I was lost, but not really lost .. It was still very scary to me though, being 5 and all!! But now my mom and I laugh about it .
-- Did you ever get lost, or think you did, as a kid?

I cannot remember a time I got lost, but I am sure I did. Yours would be a scary experience for someone who is 5.

@Courtlynn Wow, that's a cute story! when I'm lost, I just stay on the spot and wait for couple of minutes, then my mother will back to get me, haha that is always I do when I'm lost..

@Courtlynn If I leave the place where my mom last saw me, then that would be another issue, but it is easy for her to find me, on the same spot where she last time saw me..
I haven't encounter any problem since I'm doing that.. she always found me on the same spot where she leave me. But if I've waited for couple of hours then that is a different case :)

But as a child, you don't do that. You search.

I have never been lost but one time my mom took us to visit our grandma in America. When we were there she took us to the zoo. My baby brother got lost in the zoo and my mom almost went crazy. The people who worked there found him at he elephant cage and he was trying to go over the small wall and play with the elephants. We had to pick him up at the front of the zoo.

Haha, I'm glad everything turned out alright! That would have been scary though. As I posted last night, I got lost on a field trip in the first grade and was very panicked over not being able to find my group. Luckily I found a group of kids from my class and tagged along with them until their group chaperone located mine.

Getting lost is very scary I have seen alot of missing kids here and their parents circulate a memo on social media and they end up getting their kids....My mum's friend also lost her twins once but soon got them in a far away city she really prayed and cried.
I can imagine how happy you were happy to see your mum.I remember once i was in the yearly show fair trade when in lower school and i found myself in the disco arena.I was lost but i started enjoying the music and got comfortable.I lost track of time and before I knew it it was dark.I started panicking and wondering how to get home.Just as i was going through the exit i heard an announcement. It was my mother calling out my name!I was so happy she found me.
