I cut my hair short!

For several months now I've been sporting a long hair. So yesterday, I booked myself and my son at our favorite Luxe Salon for a haircut. I decided to have a bob cut hair like the one in the photo as I want a different style.
In this country it's common that when women suddenly cut their long hair short it's because they're going through something and that is usually a broken heart. And I've been questioned several times, each time I cut my long hair too short, why I did that and they didn't seem to care that my only answer was, I want to look different!
Do you change your hairstyle whenever you're brokenhearted or depressed?

@Lucky15 With just a few inches of hair cut or just a trim, it's not a problem and never questionable. But imagine a length that goes beyond your shoulder and then into a boy cut! That's the thing that they usually question.
I guess it started long time ago as hair is considered as a woman's crowning glory and short hair is something that is for the boys and not for the girls.

Sorry not me. If you look at my profile picture you would know. And if you have carefully read the first paragraph of my discussion, I'd stated that it's not me.

Oh, that was the old me. Lol
When I was in college whenever I feel brokenhearted I always cut my hair short. They call me desperate one time.
Today, I plan to have a Balayage hair color for my hair. It looks pretty cool.
And post your new hair here Toni.

I will when I'm done with my baby lights on Friday. Couldn't do it last Monday because I haven't booked for it and it's too late. I've booked myself for baby lights on Friday at 9am.

@JustBhem Thanks. How much do they charge you there for a Balayage? For my very short bob cut I have to pay P4,500.

Many people have ways of coping up with depression and a broken heart, some needs a change of air, so a new look does them good and the easiest way to change a totally different look is the hairstyle.

No. I have long hair and for me it is best. I don't like short hair for one and second when I did cut my hair short once I looked more like a clown because my hair was out of control. BTW your new haircut looks so cute on you. I like it and it makes a real change.

@toniganzon normal, as in not a surprise. Some just color their hair, some cut it. Or some change their clothes style, or take better care of themselves exercise and food wise. Everyone has a coping way.

Actually, I go through a cycle, growing my hair very long. Then, I basically get sick of it and get it cut to a shorter hairdo. That's not from depression or a loss of love! I just need a new, fresher look and it works every single time! After a certain length of time, I go through the pains of growing it out again

@kobesbuddy Yeah it can be costly. My son goes every two weeks and he spends more on haircuts than I do.

Same here with me. I change my hairstyle every now and then like every 6 months or even sometimes short. I'm very adventurous when it comes to my hair.

I get bored with the same hairstyle and couldn't stay long with just one style for 6 months. I need to change it every now and then.
But I do understand some people are comfortable with their own style and doesn't want to change it.

I have long hair and have no desire to cut it, but mine is Religiously based. Even when I am going thru something this has never been a thought.

I cut my hair when it gets out of hand for me, relationships have no impact on my hair. But people tend to think when you make a change some has happened.

I do get it regularly as I easily get bored with the same hairstyle for a year. So it's every 6 months for me.
It's the drastic hair cut that they question usually. From a lengthy hair to a a very short boy cut hair style, there's always a reason behind which is a broken heart. But that hasn't happened to me at all!

Women are questioned about it but never men. I guess women are seen as more emotional and are prone to drastic changes when something big happens to them.
