I honestly believe Don Williams was one of the best singers of all time. Yeah, I know Elvis was more famous, but there was just something about Don Williams that could make you smile or cry.
His music touched a place in my heart like no other. My husband sometimes will play his guitar and sing along with "Lay Down Beside Me." It always makes me cry!
Our family band has performed two of Don Williams' songs in church, "Shelter of your Eyes" and "Lord, I hope this day is good." Well, I did change a few words to make them more like Gospel music.
Don Williams seemed like such a kind soul...his music wasn't rowdy or profane, just good music. I miss him already.

@1creekgirl Yes, I heard his voice often, very nice tunes too (I believe in you, I wouldn't want to live if you didn't love me, The rose, etc).

I have heard him before but I have to go to youtube to find him as he is never on Spanish Television and with a voice like that he surely should have been.
Sort of a Glen Campbell voice but not.
Got a lovely voice to listen to for sure.

He was married for 57 years, and he’s one of the VERY few singers (country or any other genre) you never heard any scandal about.

Oh no, that's sad. I don't know a lot of his stuff, but was "Tulsa Time" one of his?

Yes, he sang Tulsa Time. If you liked that, please give a listen to some of his other music.
