Which do you think is worse, death or being completely dependent on others?

First, I must accept that I fear death. A lot. However, I hate it more because of the sadness it leaves in a family. I wouldn't want to be the one leaving people that sad. That said, I have always heard people mention how long they would want to live. Most people look forward to living beyond 70. Some people (like me) would not want to live to that age when they would have to depend on their family for everything including taking a dump. Do you think that the life at this point is worth more than death itself? If you had rather live, would your option be different if your situation is fast depleting your family wealth? Would your choice change if some of your family members are completely inconvenienced by your situation? What about if no one is willing to take care of you and you cannot afford living at a nursing home? Would you probably prefer to live in a nursing home if you could afford it?

I think even for those that may need looking after, there can still be some joy in life.

I know. In the form of family, friends, and past achievements, for example.

I'd say it's a tricky thought for me. As much as I wouldn't wan to be a burden to someone there would reach a point and time that it would be a necessity, on the other hand i would want to live for as long as I comfortably can.
