Do You Read the Posts You Comment On

I know that most people do. But recently it seems like the comments I'm getting have no relevancy to the post or the question that comes at the end. I find myself mentally and physically scratching my head and wondering where that comment came from. Especially when it's a post that has had a lot of thought going into it, like my Bible Studies. So I wonder if people are just grabbing posts, and making a quick comment without reading and then moving on to the next post.
Have you seen this on your posts or am I alone in noticing this trend on my posts? I appreciate those who read and give comments that make sense to the post. Thank you.
Thanks for reading.

@just4him Exactly. I'm tempted to just start 'liking' those comments. I would feel rude not responding, but how many times am I supposed to say "Thank you" or "You're welcome" on one post?
And people aren't obligated to read or comment on my posts, but if you're gonna comment, at least read it please.

I always read the post before I make my comment. Sometimes, though I don't read the comments already made before I make mine and I might add something that has already been said.

I don't often read other people's comments. I don't like being influenced by what someone else wrote. If the topic is of particular interest, I will read through the comments, especially if there's a question I would like the answer to as well.

Oh yes now and then I get some comment that makes absolutely no sense.

@fishtiger58 @poehere was saying that scammers on myLot will do that. I have noticed that those same people who put those comments also don't have any discussions. Which she referred to as myLot scammers.

I read the post and I try to add to what was written. I've seen your Bible posts and although I do not reply all the time, I make sure to read it daily. It is one of the posts that I look forward to reading here in the site.

I do read posts as well. I read it from beginning to end. Honestly, I am too slow on your Bible study. I hope I can have the habit of reading them as I do my daily devotion. It is very helpful.

Thank you. Bible studies were never meant to be raced through. I don't know how anyone can understand what God is saying to them if they read it so fast. Slow is best so you can get the full blessing of what God is saying. As for the other posts, it helps to pay attention to what is written.

I try to read the entire post before I leave a comment. Then I try to leave a relevant comment...

I read post before commenting.
But if you want me to read and comment on your post, you have to make it brief and comprehensive. Otherwise, I won't read and I won't post any comment.
If you want to know how many words is reasonable and brief, you may ask me, by commenting.
Comprehensive is another thing too.

I don't usually write brief posts, which in my interpretation is one sentence. That's too brief because usually there isn't anything a person can comment on. I don't write overly long ones, except my Bible studies, and those are Holy Spirit driven.

I do read each discussion, and I try to comment to the point, but I have noticed that people often stray from the subject, especially in multiple comments. I had a very old discussion that a couple of people commented on and I answered, but then it devolved into a personal discussion between the two commenters.

That can happen a lot in some discussions. I've been part of that kind of discussion and it can be fun. It's like when you're talking to a person face to face, you never stay on the same subject, but it goes off in other directions and makes the conversation more interesting.

I've gotten partway into a post, but didn't like its content. I'd just X the corner and go to a different discussion.

Yes, I've dealt with this, too. I posted a photo of my father and his sister, stating that they're both gone now. A couple responses were, 'Oh, you are so lucky to still have your Aunt around!' Another reply, 'How old is your father now?' I'd explained that he passed away in 2006!:) Neither one of them had even read the discussion.
