My friend we have known each for long, mysteriously turn to be a con and imposter. I have trusted him so much that I gave him a thousand dollar to buy something for me. I waited for a month with no reply, when i tried to call him his phone is off. It's now the third month but no notion of were he is about. I am now regretting that I shouldn't have trusted him. Can someone suggest to me what I should do next

If you cannot find him then I don't think there is anything you can do. How long did you know him? Where does he live?

Sorry to hear that. I was conned by my best friend too, 20 years ago. She told me her mom needed money for surgery, I lend money to her but she vanished 2 months later. I was disappointed when I found out that she lied to me. Take it as a lesson to learn

Wow, that's a big amount! If you know his identity, you can tell the authorities about him to get your money.

Hi,
My best advice would be to slowly let yourself cool down, and once time has passed, try not to scratch an old wound, because it will hurt even more.
Forget the money, you will probably never get it back. Say that you donated it to charity...
There is an old saying; if you want to destroy a relationship with someone - anyone, friend or relative - lend them money or borrow from them. It's a sure, and the fastest, way to become enemies.

Maybe he skipped town. Who knows though what happened. Perhaps he was being criminal or maybe he was just stressed so much couldn't deal with telling you his situation. For a lot less some I talked to told me once where the person I entrusted was located. Perhaps someone knows him?
