Telling a partner our past

What's our opinion on telling a partner a past life ,so they don't get to hear everything from the grapevine. You know there are things we have done and we don't want to remember them but you can't be so sure with your friends,gossips and even family members.You know the past sometimes come calling in a very unbelievable way.
So would you disclose your past life to a partner?

I don't think it is necessary to discuss your past with a current boyfriend or girlfriend. But if you think that past is something that can affect your relationship with him/her, then do so. Besides whatever it is that is behind you, if your partner really loves you, it does not matter whatever it is in your past. What matters is NOW.:)

@augusta123 Such thing can affect a relationship. So it is something to be discussed. It is why I said if you think it will affect your relationship, then talk it out. If the partner really loves his/her partner, he/she would understand.

I don't tell them of my past all at once but maybe as the relationship moves forward we talk about things that have happened as they come to pass. I have found that friends are famous for telling stories you might want to keep under wraps at least for a little while.
