I Hate To Brag BUT I Will

I don't know how many of my friends here remember me talking about my 16 year old granddaughter and that she is in her marching band at high school. She plays the clarinet. Their high school marching band has about 250 members so they are quite large and make a stunning appearance when they parade or do their formations at football games, etc. Well, their band was chosen to play the National Anthem at the Phillies vs Dodgers baseball game on Tuesday night. Quite an honor I'd say. They did an amazing job and it just gave me goose bumps listening to them play. My heart was bursting with pride knowing that my granddaughter was part of the band and doing a spectacular job.

Wow, that's quite an honor - oh you must be so proud of your granddaughter! I hope they got a video of that! Ohhh, as the Dodgers are our home team, perhaps if any of our big Dodger fan friends had been watching the game, they might have seen them !

It takes a lot of planning to maneuver 250 band members from location to location and they will be flying to Phoenix Arizona in Jan 2018 for their big new years parade

@Marilynda1225 No, the Dodgers are one of the best right now! I'm a Giants/Cubs fan, but I have to accept reality. Looks like the Cubs will make the playoffs, though.

That is really special and I would also brag about my granddaughter if she did this. She use to play in the band and decided she wanted to be a cheerleader instead. I am happy your granddaughter has kept up with her music. She can go far with this and who knows one day she could play for some giant band.

She loves music so I'm sure she'll pursue some sort of music when she goes to college. I admire cheerleaders as they do more than just cheering compared to when I went to school. It's a very strenuous job to be able to cheer.

@Marilynda1225 Yes she does love it and when she was small she took some classes for cheerleading and did a few competitions when she was young. Now in high school this is her second year and she just loves it.

@Akatheu at one year old he has a whole bright future ahead. Enjoy him while he's young as time passes by so fast and the next thing you know they are grown. My granddaughter is 16 years old and it seems like only yesterday that she was born.
