From Trash to Treasure

"One man's trash is another man's treasure". Have you ever heard this statement? I live by this statement. I am one of those that will pick up perfectly good items that have been thrown out. If it is still in good shape or can be refinished, I snatch it up. The case with this rocking chair is a little bit different. I came home one night and found it in my yard. I live out in the country and have very few neighbors. I asked them and no one knew about the rocking chair. I waited 2 weeks for someone to claim it, but after 3 weeks, I decided I would keep it and refinish it since we had no money for my grand-daughter's birthday. I think it turned out pretty good. I refinished it to match her bedroom. She was so excited about it. It did my heart good to see that happy look on her face. All I can say is I am thankful a stray rocking chair ended up in our yard.
