Medicines for headache: Do they actually work?

Sometimes I get a splitting headache. I apply a balm on my forehead, but not many balms I have tried provide relief. There’s not much I can do when I get a migraine attack but hope the moment passes quickly. Those times you get that splitting headache are manic and painful. When I get that sudden headache, I cannot concentrate on tasks at hand. Further I get irritable and sometimes vent out my frustration on others. I usually take a nap when I have a headache. I feel a little better after I lie down. I mean is there some kind of home remedy for migraine. I don’t know what to do when I get a sudden migraine attack. Are there medicines for headache and do they actually work?

Yes medicine iver the counter works. I am not sure if the medicines we have here are available there in your country. Try advil it is fast relief. I also hate having headaches. Do you know what trigers your headache? Is it stress related or due to eyes or allergies?

I have never tried medication over the counter. I will check if the medicine you've mentioned is available in my country. I don't think it's stress related, I don't get stressed too often, I'm rather calm in situations. I don't know if it's got to do with my dust allergy. The headache just comes without warning.

I use tiger balm and have also used tiger oil brand, but it doesn't give much relief. Will give Axe oil a try.

if it's caused by lack of sleep, then a nap is the best remedy. but if it's migraine, what i usually read is lying still in a dark room helps.

Migraines, you should get the medication from the doctor rather than Over the counter. If normal headache, Panadol or Coxan is good enough to stop the pain. I tried Tiger Balm, rub it on the side of the head temple, felt great after a nap.
