Emotional day today

It was an emotional day today. My friend and I went to the wake for our friend. It was so sad. A lot of tears. Her family is so devastated. I know them all so well. I watched her daughters grow up, I was there when she got married and there when her grand daughter was born, her grand daughter graduated last June. Her brother is my boss and their Dad was my boss when I first started at work. Their family had been a big part of my life for the past 30 years. They all told me the same thing. That before she went to have the dye test done that morning she was talking about me. She said that since I had been through it a short time ago she would be fine. She wasn't worried about a thing. What happened to her only has a 1% chance of happening. Sadly she was in that 1%. The funeral tomorrow will be difficult. I am going with another coworker. It still all seems so hard to believe. Life can change so quickly.

I am so so sorry. That must have been heart breaking hearing that in a way since she was so confident everything would be fine. =( I am praying for all of you.

She's lucky to have had such a good friend in you, as is the family. I'm sure that she found it reassuring that you had survived the test, and maybe it allowed her to go without being too fearful. Nobody knows when our time will come, it sounds like she went quickly and without pain or suffering. I hope that she is resting peacefully finally now. Your kindness and just being "you" will be the best medicine that they can get once you return to work, although it will be especially hard on you.

Thank you. I do find some comfort in knowing she was scared going into it.

Oh Laurel, that is so sad to hear. It breaks my heart. I hope you are holding up okay. Keeping you in my thoughts. So many people are affected when life throws us curve balls. One life easily changes so many other lives. My prayers go out to all the family and friends of this woman.
